Exploring Nagaland is like unfolding secret pages of a history book. It is real discovery of breathtaking and untouched natural beauty, of hidden and unknown traditions, of a vibrant culture and joyous festivals and the supreme quality of people and their hospitality.
It is a land of folklore passed down the generations through word of mouth. Music is an integral part of life; folk songs eulogizing ancestors, brave deeds of warriors and traditional heroes and poetic love songs immortalising ancient tragic love stories.
More about Nagaland
For the adventurous, Nagaland is an ideal place for adventure, exploration, education, trekking, camping and offers limitless exploration possibilities in its lush and verdant sub-tropical rain forests which are also a treasure trove of a plethora of medicinal plants.
Nagaland is rich in cultural diversity and is occupied largely by sixteen different tribes. The traditions and identity of each of these tribes [customs, language and clothes] is distinctly different.

How to get there
You require at least three days on the ground to make the trip worth your while.
Dimapur, the only airport in Nagaland and is accessible only from Kolkata [serviced by Indian Airlines and Indigo]. An alternative and possibly more economical route is to fly to Guwahati and then take a train, bus or car from there to Dimapur [approximately 5 hours]. The airport in Guwahati is well connected to the railway station with a shuttle bus leaving almost every hour.
