Flights
You need to fly in to Dimapur airport. Dimapur is reasonably well connected with flights coming in from Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore and Guwahati on most days of the week. Indigo and Air India are your two options from Kolkata.
Train
Dimapur station is the closest station. It is well connected with Guwahati city. There are about 5 trains that come in each day.
What you should do from Dimapur
The Hornbill Festival venue is about 84 km away from Dimapur town. Getting there directly will need some prior planning to make it a smooth transfer. If you let us know in advance, we can organise taxis to pick you up.
If however, you wish to do this on your own, you can take a shared taxi from Dimapur to Kohima town and then another shared cab from there to the venue in Kisama, which is the last 12 km of your journey.

Luxury Hotels
Kohima has a few decent hotels. While they don’t have any official star ratings, we can assure you of decent rooms and bathrooms. The hotels have a restaurant and other guest service facilities. This is for clients who need everything taken care of.

Homestays
A lot of home stays pop up around the festival time, many of which are close to the hornbill festival venue. Worth checking out if you don’t mind living in someone’s house. The service you get here is often extremely good, however the stay facilities in most cases will be average.

Budget Camping
This trip is all about you and reconnecting yourself with nature and reality. We feel that the campsite is the ideal place for us to host you with this objective in mind.
We have a very clean and well kept campsite in Nagaland that has properly constructed bathrooms and a bathing area. When we have guests on site, the loos are regularly washed down to maintain hygiene. You will not be disappointed. We have Indian and Western loos. We also have shower areas that have 24×7 running water along with hot water in the mornings. As we use wood fires to heat water, we restrict only to once a day.

Where is the campsite?
Our campsite is nested in the woods of Kigwema village. Kigwema is about 12 km away from Kohima town and much lesser populated place which allows for a more relaxed experience.

All year round camping
Our campsite in Kigwema village, which is just one km away from Kisama, is open through the year. Choose this campsite if you would like a clean yet budget stay. You will get to meet other travellers who stay there too and perhaps make your itinerary even more eventful.
We organise group excursions to the nearby sights for all our campers – this would be the most cost efficient and fun way to explore areas other than the Hornbill Festival, such as Dzukou Valley Trek, Japfu Peak Trek, Visiting local villages etc.
Curated holidays
Most of guests want everything pre-planned and organised. This is what we are really good at!
Our programmes include some or all of the following activities:
What you need to bring with you
Likely weather conditions
Weather in this region is very unpredictable. However based on recent trends, December will be very cold with a small chance of rains. Temperatures will range between 15 degrees in the day time with strong sun light to 0 degrees at night. When you’re outside of your hotel or tent, it feels very cold, so we really suggest erring on the side of caution while deciding what warm clothes to bring.
Decide on dates
Availability of places to stay is most critical during the festival. If you don’t plan in advance, you probably won’t find a decent hotel to stay at. So, fix your dates and get in touch with us. The campsite option is open for you to fix your own dates. Our campsite will be fully functional and ready for you from November 28 to December 11.
Decide on flexibility

We don’t mix groups except at the campsite. If you’re taking one of our curated trips, you would also need to get a group together. The more the people, the more affordable the programme gets. We do have limited tickets for each programme, so do contact us before you build a large group together. We will guide you through the process
