The October Dzukou Festival
October 19 – 25, 2018
October 2018 – Join us in October while we set up camp at Dzukou Valley. The festival will be a seven-day long affair with music and dance, food and rice beer set under the clear skies of the valley.
You can spend the day exploring the valley with our guides or by yourself, follow our instructors for a photography walk or sit by a bonfire to just unwind from your city lives. We hope to have clear skies at night where you can see the milky way in all its glory.
Join us for a night, two nights or more at Dzukou Valley.
The 18th Annual Hornbill Festival
December 01 – 10, 2018
December 2018 – Join us at the 18th Annual Hornbill Festival. The festival of festivals that has brought Nagaland on the global travel map.
The festival begins on December 01, 2018 – usually with an opening ceremony with dignitaries from all over the country invited to attend. December 10, 2018 is the last of the festival and includes a performance by local artists to conclude the event.
On each of the ten days of the festival, you can experience the local dance, food, arts and crafts and weaves of each of the major Naga tribes. All of this at one venue. If you wanted to experience all of this at any other time of the year, it would take you no less than 3 months of traveling across the entire state.
The festival is set is Kisama Heritage Village which is about 12 km away from Kohima. You can stay at hotels in Kohima town, homestays near Kisama Heritage Village or choose from one of the many campsites in and around the venue. We run our own campsite – Camp David Kigwema – about a km away from the venue – set amidst the trees of a hill slope.
