Start Point Kohima
The trip will begin from Kohima town. The trip starts at 6 am on the November 08, 2019. You are requested to gather at the Red Cross building by 5.45 am.
If you are coming in from out of station or from another town in Nagaland, you need to ensure that you are in Kohima by the evening of November 07, 2019. If you need assistance getting to Kohima, we can help you with cost effective options
End Point Kohima
The trip ends on the evening of November 10, 2019 and will terminate at Red Cross Building in Kohima by approximately 7 pm.
If you are heading to another town/ city, we can help you organise cost effective transport to head out from Kohima.
We suggest that you book your return transport out of Dimapur only on or after the morning of November 11, 2019.
Flights
You need to fly in to Dimapur airport. Dimapur is only connected to Kolkata airport with 2 flights coming in on most days of the week. Indigo and Air India are your two options from Kolkata. Both these flights leave Kolkata at around 10 – 11 am, and so you need to reach Kolkata airport before that. There are good connections from most major cities.
The same two aircrafts are the only two flights that depart from Dimapur – and both leave in the afternoon between 12 and 2 pm.

Train
Dimapur station is the closest station. It is well connected with Guwahati city. There are about 5 trains that come in each day.
Similarly, if you are heading out by train, you can book a train that leaves Dimapur station.

Camping under the stars
This trip is about visiting the villages of Nagaland where good accommodation may not be possible. You will be camping out in a farm under the stars. Tents will be given on twin sharing basis. We feel that a campsite surrounded by farms and trees will be a perfect way for you to experience life in the village renowned for its fruits and vegetables.

Participation options
Participation options are as follows:
- Join us in a vehicle that’s driven by our team. Buy a seat or two ….
- Ride on a bike that we have organised for you. Or be the pillion to someone you know who is joining us
- Ride your own bike. Or be the pillion to someone you know who is joining us
- Drive your own car. Or be the co-driver or passenger in a vehicle belonging to someone you know who is joining us
Food
- Simple Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served at the Campsites throughout the trip
- Lunch will be vegetarian (fresh healthy local ingredients)
- Dinner will have vegetarian and non-vegetarian items (fresh healthy local ingredients)
What you need to bring with you
What you need to bring with you :
- Comfortable clothes – you will be in or on a vehicle for a fair amount of time
- Warm clothes. You will need layers
- Small pillow or cushion – there will be a fair amount of time spent on the roads, and this just helps. The pillow will come in handy while camping as well
- Your own water Bottles as we do not encourage buying Bottled water.
- Toiletries. Toilet paper is a must when you are out camping.
- Medicines that you need
- For the Trekking section we recommend that you carry a pair of good hiking shoes as the terrain is fairly rugged, a thicker jacket, water proof if possible, a torch, a battery pack
- A small back pack that you can carry your belongings in. Sleeping bags will be provided in Kohima at the start of the trip. You will need to carry your own Bags. Tents and mats will be carried by the porters.
- Government issued ID
- Inner Line Permit – we will organise this for you
Likely weather conditions
Weather in this region is very unpredictable. However based on recent trends, September and October will be cool with a chance of rains. Temperatures will range between 25 degrees in the day time with strong sun light to 5 degrees at night.
When you’re outside of your hotel or tent at higher altitudes, it feels very cold, so we really suggest erring on the side of caution while deciding what warm clothes to bring.

- Do you want to bring your own motorcycle and join the group that is riding? Or be the pillion to someone you know who is joining us
- Do you want to bring your own car and the driving group? Or be the co-driver or passenger in a vehicle belonging to someone you know who is joining us
